Vashti Forrest Memorial Foundation
A smile fit for a Queen.
Studio 222 Film Productions, LLC, is partnering with non-profit organization, Impact 22, to help support the efforts of the Vashti Forrest Memorial Foundation being established to help provide resources and assistance to organizations who are helping with victims of domestic violence.
Through this partnership, Studio 222 films is producing a full feature film "Not Too Far From Here" to help reach the 7 million children living in, or that have lived in, severe domestic violent homes.
The writer of "Not Too Far From Here", Deborah Watson, has this to say about the project:
"There is a popular saying, 'broken crayons still color.' It encourages people that even though they are broken, they can still take the pieces and color a beautiful life. But what is broken color really? I had to know the truth of brokenness from this point of view.
Broken color was first used by the impressionists in France in the 19th century. Instead of blending colors and values together, color was applied in small “dabs” to make it look more modern and contemporary.
Our culture is full of colors and values. Instead of blending them together, "Not Too Far From Here" shows what life looks like when you take people from different cultures and put them together, allowing them to have their own characteristics and set of moral values.
Is love suppose to hurt?
No. I don't think so, but hurting people, hurt people. Love can administer healing to the hurting but not if it's blended with other things that destroy. That's where hope, grace and mercy become a part of love and real miracles start to happen in all relationships."
The partnership between the studio, impact 22, and Vashti Forrest Memorial Fund, will create a sustaining income stream to the foundation through a percentage of the sales from "Not Too Far From Here". It will also provide an opportunity for organizations working with the victims of domestic violence, to tap into the stream to help strengthen their reach into the communities and save lives, while they bring about change in the form of hope, grace and mercy to them.
